Terms and Conditions

Definitions:

Business: Owl House Tutoring (“we”, “us”, “our”)
Client: Parent, guardian, or carer submitting onboarding form or requesting services (“you”, “your”)
Service: Tutoring delivered in person or online (“sessions”, “lessons”)

1. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting the onboarding form, booking a session, or engaging any service provided by Owl House Tutoring ("we", "us", "our"), you ("you", "your") agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

2. Nature of Services

Owl House Tutoring provides academic tutoring, study support, and educational guidance for students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Sessions are tailored to individual student needs and delivered by qualified tutors. While every effort is made to support learning and academic success, we cannot guarantee specific grades or outcomes.

3. Tutor Status, Verification, and Liability

All tutors engaged by Owl House Tutoring operate as independent contractors, not employees. This means:

  • Tutors deliver services on behalf of Owl House Tutoring but are not employees of the business.

  • Owl House Tutoring is not liable for any contractor’s personal actions outside the scope of agreed tutoring services.

  • You agree not to engage tutors privately outside of Owl House Tutoring without written permission.

4. Tutor Matching and Session Delivery

We will do our best to pair your child with a tutor whose experience, academic background, and availability suit their needs. If the match is not suitable, you may request a change at any time. This request must be made in writing.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes unless otherwise arranged.

5. Parent / Guardian Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • ensure the student attends sessions on time

  • provide a safe and appropriate learning environment (online or in-home)

  • supervise minors during in-home lessons

  • communicate any changes to availability, learning needs, or concerns with appropriate notice

  • ensure all information provided to Owl House is accurate

6. Code of Conduct

Tutors are expected to:

  • maintain professionalism and appropriate boundaries

  • follow New South Wales child safety standards

  • respect student confidentiality

  • report any safety concerns to Owl House Tutoring

Parents and students must also behave respectfully towards tutors. Abusive or unsafe behaviour may result in immediate termination of services.

7. Privacy and Data Handling

We collect only the information required to deliver tutoring services. All personal information is stored securely by Owl House and is shared with tutors only for essential purposes such as scheduling, communication, lesson planning, and tutor matching.

We do not disclose or distribute your information to any third party unless required by law or with your explicit consent.

8. Communication

You agree that Owl House Tutoring may contact you via email, SMS, or phone for scheduling, updates, and administrative purposes.

9. Liability Limitation

To the extent permitted by law:

  • Owl House is not liable for academic outcomes, school assessments, exam results, or tertiary admissions.

  • Owl House is not responsible for loss, damage, or injury arising from misuse of information, failure to follow instructions, or circumstances outside our control.

  • Our liability is limited to the cost of services provided.

10. Termination of Services

Either party may terminate services at any time with written notice. Outstanding invoices must be paid in full before termination is finalised.

Owl House Tutoring may suspend or terminate services if:

  • there is a safety concern

  • repeated late cancellations occur i.e., more than three consecutive cancellations within 24 hours notice

  • inappropriate conduct takes place

  • payment is not received

11. Amendments

Owl House Tutoring may update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
Clients will be notified of any material changes.
